The Shawnee Mission South Foundation supports students through scholarships, teachers through grants, and the community through projects.
Since 2008, the Shawnee Mission South Foundation has extended scholarships to South seniors based on family financial need. Upon their enrollment in college, the foundation has paid $500-$1000 directly to the institution. To date, the SM South Foundation has paid over $20,000 in need-based scholarships.

The Shawnee Mission South Foundation, in partnership with the Shawnee Mission South administration, is excited to announce its support for a dynamic video projection system that will benefit the students and faculty of the school. This new presentational technology will enhance the performance capacity of students and facilitate professional development for faculty. Dan Christie, the president of the South Foundation, expressed his enthusiasm for the project and his appreciation for the South Foundation to create opportunities, to enhance facilities, and to provide resources that help to sustain a quality educational experience at Shawnee Mission South.
